SHEAR STRENGTH OF THE STRENGTH–DUCTILITY TYPE SEISMIC RETROFITTING TECHNIQUE FOR EXISTING RC COLUMNS USING PRESTRESSING BAR AND STEEL PLATES

This study explores a seismic retrofit method for existing RC columns using cast-in-site partial thick hybrid wing-wall (THW) technique. The THW technique plays two important roles: (1) to enable easy and cost-effective construction (2) considerably increase lateral strength ductility. aim of this is experimentally determine the shear resistance (truss arch mechanism) retrofitted Based on analytical assessment technique, design equations ultimate steel plate thickness are proposed.
